There a so many ways to make an image pop. I’m going to show you the way I do it, but here are a couple of great tutorials that helped me out.

open your image in photoshop.
select “layers” in your toolbar, then “new adjustment layer”, then curves.

this curves layer is to bring your mid tones. adjust to your liking until it look correctly exposed. you won’t need to do this step if you expose correctly. I know I never do, but I should learn how someday. LOL. You can always do this step and adjust or exclude it later once you see how it all looks together.

now do another “new adjustment layer”, then curves.

this curves layer will actually be your “pop” layer. I really only use two points, one for shadows and one for highlights. and do a very slight “s” curve like shown.

like I said your “lighten” layer, the first curves layer you created, you may not need. I’ve actually gone back and changed the opacity of that layer to around 50% until it looked the way I wanted it to.
and last you flatten your image and it’s ready to be saved.
this pop is very subtle, but you can always beef it up if you want to.
